Gawler with Elle
Since we arrived in Adelaide, we have gone some walks and visited some friends family. Her name is Elle. The first day she brought us to Victor Harbor and from there we went Granite Island. You had to walk across a long bridge to get there. After a walk we had some ice cream (we are doing this quite a lot). Yesterday, we went to the a place called the Whispering Wall. It is a dam that when you whisper at one end of the wall you can hear them 150m away like they are standing beside you. It was cool. From there we went to a wine region where we stopped for lunch. Once again, I had pizza and more ice cream. Back to Elle's house, we visited with her nephew who just broke an Australian record for driving fast across the desert. He went 320kmh!
Halls gap
Five days ago we went on a five hour road trip to Adelaide and it was not an exciting drive, it was only fields beyond fields with the road being straight. Over the last few days or so, we have seen tons of kangaroos and one of them hopped over a fence. Also, we had a nice cottage in a town called Halls Gap and the Kangaroos let you come right up to them and they come right up to the cottage. We went on a hike up a mountain. The hike started in a canyon where the rocks felt like they were closing in on us. At one point, we could touch both sides of the walls. At the top we could see our cottage, after we slowly made our way down the mountain. On another walk we did I got a book called First Field Guide To Australian Mammals it tells about marsupial's and other types of Australian mammals. We also saw our first echidna.
